Have you ever thought about joining the Catholic Church? Wondered what was involved? Didn't know who to talk to? Do you feel God calling you to Himself through the Catholic Church? Do you long for the Eucharist?
OCIA (Order of Christian Initiation of Adults) classes will be Tuesday evenings at 7:00 pm beginning October 8th.
Open to those 16 and up.
For more information or to sign up, call the parish office at 517-423-2447.
The OCIA Team: Bob Januszek, along with our Parish Family, welcome you and hope you will join us on this great journey to learn more about our faith and to discover God's plan for each one of us. For those who would just like to learn more about the Catholic faith - with no commitments - we offer you the opportunity to join the class as well!
The Order of Christian Initiation of Adults is an ancient tradition dating back to the early Church. While some of us are blessed to be born into a rich faith, many of us do not find the Beauty and Truth of the Catholic Church until we are adults.
The Church welcomes everyone, especially those who actively seek Jesus Christ and his Church. We believe that this is not something to be taken lightly and thus encourage personal discernment and preparation.
If joining the Church is something you fully believe is right, the OCIA program leads you to full membership within the Catholic Church. OCIA is a formalized program consisting of classroom work and practical Catholic living that starts at the beginning of the school year and is completed during the following Easter Vigil as you receive the Sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation, and the Eucharist.

The Order of Christian Initiation of Children is similar to OCIA. OCIC is for children who were not baptized as babies, but want to enter into the Catholic Church. Like OCIA, OCIC consists of learning about Catholicism and preparing to receive the sacraments. RCIC lasts for a school year, with the child entering the Church during the Easter Vigil and receiving the sacraments of Baptism, Eucharist, and Confirmation.
